学习提升行动计划(飞跃)
诺福克大学’s Learning to Elevate Action Program―known as 飞跃―provides robust and meaningful experiential learning opportunities to students in Grades 9-12. 通过跳跃, 学生可以发现他们的兴趣, passions and skill sets through exploration and experiential and service learning.
Students set out on this path of self-discovery through an annual Leap Project and 飞跃 Term.
Leap项目
Leap项目 provides students with time and space during their upper school tenure to pursue something of interest. 这种兴趣是否是学术上的, 运动, 音乐的, 艺术或只是一些看起来有趣的东西, students are encouraged to take full advantage of this opportunity to make an individual decision about their learning.
一路走来, students engage with activities and exercises that build key skill sets like public speaking, 协作, 生成性思维等等. The ultimate goal of the Leap Project is to ignite excitement around learning, exploring and doing.
Upper school students can pursue a different focus for their Leap Project from year to year or extend a focus from one year to the next. 到他们大四的时候, 学生会有强烈的自我意识, 对未来学术和个人道路的信心, and a curiosity and deep appreciation of learning for learning’s sake. These experiences push students to 认为 and to learn in different ways, exposing them to new topics or areas they have not traditionally had the opportunity to explore.
飞跃地图
诺福克大学 utilizes the Experience Institute’s award-winning Leap Map to guide students in their journey to designing the right Leap Project for them.
The Leap Map consists of four sections: Discover, Prepare, Act and Share. Students complete each section of their Leap Map using sticky-notes so they can add to, 认为, respond and allow their 认为ing to change and evolve over time. The Leap Map’s framework is shaped by characteristics of design 认为ing and growth mindset development place significance on iterative 认为ing, 尝试新事物或承担适当的风险, pivoting if something doesn’t work and developing resilience in the face of challenges.
Each year’s 飞跃 journey looks different and will have a different outcome for students. Below is a breakdown of what it looks like for each grade level.
